Frequently asked questions
Clear answers before you choose your training.
Find clear answers about course access, completion certificates, employer bookings and learner support.
What type of training does Pitstone offer?
Pitstone provides flexible online training for individuals and employers across a range of workplace subjects. Courses can be completed remotely using a suitable computer, tablet or mobile device with internet access.
What will I receive after completing a course?
After successfully completing the course and its online assessment, the learner receives a downloadable Completion Certificate. This provides evidence of the training completed and can be retained by the learner or employer.
Does the course include a regulated qualification?
Unless the individual course page states otherwise, the course includes a Completion Certificate rather than a regulated qualification. We are working to expand our offering to include regulated qualifications in the future; however, for many roles and workplace requirements a Completion Certificate is sufficient evidence of training. If training is required for a particular job, contract or workplace requirement, we recommend checking what training you need or contacting us for more information before purchasing.
How will I receive access to my course?
For individual learners, course access is sent immediately after purchase to the email address provided at checkout, once the purchase has been completed.
For employers purchasing a single course for an individual learner, the process is the same as an individual purchase. For bulk licence orders, access can be issued immediately after the invoice has been paid or scheduled for a later start date agreed with the employer for a group or team.
How long will I have to complete the course?
Learners have access to the course for 12 months from the date of purchase, giving them time to complete the training at a suitable pace. Any different access period will be shown on the relevant course page.
Can I complete the course at my own pace?
Yes. Courses are online and self-paced, allowing learners to work through the content around their existing commitments. The approximate learning time is shown on each course page.
Does every learner need a separate email address?
Yes. Each learner needs their own email address so their course access, progress and completion can be recorded correctly and their certificate can be issued in their name.
Can I purchase training for someone else?
Yes. You can purchase a course for another person, but you will need to provide the learner’s full name and individual email address so their access can be set up correctly.
Can employers book training for several learners?
Yes. Pitstone can coordinate learner enrolments and manage group bookings for employers. We can also arrange immediate or scheduled course access to fit around inductions, staff availability and operational requirements.
Are discounts available for larger bookings?
Discounts may be available depending on the course and number of learners. Contact Pitstone with the course required and expected learner numbers, and we will provide clear pricing for the booking.
What support does Pitstone provide?
We provide clear guidance before purchase and a personal point of contact if help is needed. This includes support with choosing suitable training, arranging learner enrolments and resolving access or booking queries.
How is Highfield involved in the training?
Highfield is the established awarding organisation that supports and validates the certificates learners receive after successfully completing online training. This gives learners and employers confidence that the certificate is genuine and has been issued through a trusted system.
The validity of a certificate can also be checked independently using Highfield’s online certificate verification service.
What if I am unsure which course I need?
Contact Pitstone before purchasing and tell us what the training is needed for. We can explain the available options and help you identify the most suitable course, although employers and contracting organisations remain responsible for confirming any specific training or qualification requirements.
